Engines meeting Euro IV and Euro V standards are equipped with highly sensitive exhaust gas after-treatment systems: Sulfur and phosphorus in the exhaust decrease the efficiency of the catalytic converter. Sulfated ash deposits on diesel particulate filter elements, which in turn leads to increased fuel consumption and reduced engine power.

BMW LL-04 standard imposes serious restrictions on oil, especially in Valvetronic systems and exhaust after-treatment systems. This standard meets the requirements of all BMW engines produced after 2004, as well as BMW engines with previous approvals LL-98 and LL-01. ATTENTION: For BMW vehicles, this product can be used in gasoline engines only in countries of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Outside these countries, the use of BMW LL-01 approved lubricants, such as MOTUL 8100 X-cess 5W40, is required. Before use, you must consult BMW recommendations.

MB 229.51 requirement restricts the content of sulfated ash, phosphorus, and sulfur (SAPS) to ensure compatibility with Mercedes exhaust after-treatment systems. Such oils can be applied with a variable oil change interval, controlled by the on-board computer. The MB 229.51 specification applies to some MERCEDES gasoline engines, including, as well as all MERCEDES diesel engines equipped or not equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF).

PORSCHE introduced the C30 standard to ensure superior lubrication for all diesel engines and V6 gasoline engines (Porsche Cayenne). The "Porsche C30" approval means the oil meets the highest requirements in oil film resistance.

VOLKSWAGEN in the approval VW 504 00 and VW 507 00 requires the oil to be fully compatible with exhaust after-treatment systems such as catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter (DPF). This ensures the longevity of most gasoline and diesel engines in VW, AUDI, SEAT, and SKODA vehicles.

MOTUL 8100 X-clean+ 5W-30 fully meets the requirements of BMW, MERCEDES, PORSCHE, and VW, which have set their standards for oil with high HTHS viscosity (greater than 3.5 mPa/s) and reduced sulfated ash, phosphorus, and sulfur content for compatibility with modern exhaust after-treatment systems.
