Adhesive for automotive glass MANNOL Windshield Sealant 310ml
 

Windshield Sealant – single-component polyurethane adhesive sealant for windshield bonding where increased safety assurance is not required. It is used for fixing front, rear, and side windows to car bodies, vans, railway vehicles, and special purpose vehicles. Best results are achieved when using a pneumatic gun. Complies with Loctite TEROSON PU 8597 HMLC specifications. Minimum readiness time is 1 hour after application, according to FMVSS (USA), and 4 hours according to the strictest European crash test standard. Properties:
- Suitable for use on windshield openings made from any material, including aluminum;
- Due to its high initial hardness and exceptionally strong bonding properties, no additional glass fixation is required;
- Very good sag resistance;
- Does not "string" behind the tool;
- High polymerization speed;
- High shear strength and high shear modulus. Good elasticity even after prolonged use;
- Very low electrical conductivity;
- Good adhesion to residual materials of the old adhesive seam;
- High UV resistance;
- Excellent adhesion to glass, ceramic-coated glass, and painted surfaces;
- High European safety standard.
Application: Thoroughly clean the bonding surfaces from old adhesive, paint, and other coatings, rust, contamination, grease, and oil deposits. Degrease the surface of the windshield opening at the seating area using 9691 MANNOL Brake Cleaner. Dry it. Ensure there are no damages or defects on the glass surface. To clean the surface and achieve optimal adhesion, it is recommended to sand the glass bonding line with a soft abrasive material. After sanding, clean the bonding surfaces using 9974 MANNOL Glas Cleaner and let the cleaner dry for 2 minutes. Degrease the glass surface using 9691 MANNOL Brake Cleaner. Dry it. Heat the cartridge to 50-80 °C for 15 minutes. For large glasses, we also recommend pre-heating a second cartridge. Apply the adhesive to the bonding areas on the glass in a thin layer. It is allowed to apply the adhesive not to the glass but to its seating area in the windshield opening on the body. Start applying from the lower edge of the glass with an even layer without gaps along the contour and without gaps between the adhesive layer and the glass. Install the glass in the opening. Press lightly. The glass remains adjustable for 15 minutes. It is advisable to fix it with tape and then leave it to dry. Full polymerization and complete curing of the adhesive occur within 24 hours. The car is ready to drive in 1 hour, but to avoid glass displacement, which may later lead to excessive internal stresses and then cracks, it is advisable not to use the car at this time. The car itself should be on a flat surface. Bonding is preferably carried out at room temperature and 50-60% air humidity.
